How to Install a PVC Skirting Board?
1. Prepare the Surface
Thoroughly clean the surfaces where the strip will be installed from dirt and dust. Then degrease them with an appropriate product and leave to dry completely. This step is crucial for a durable and neat final result.
2. Adjust the Length
Measure the required length of the strip and cut it to size. For cutting you can use a QUEST® mitre box, a QUEST® utility knife or scissors. At corners, make a precise 45° cut so the strips fit perfectly together and form neat joins.
3. Attach the Strip
Remove the protective layer from the adhesive tape and secure the profile in the chosen position. Press the strip firmly along its entire length, paying particular attention to edges and corners. Even pressure will ensure a stable and durable bond.
Gently warm the strip with warm air from a hair dryer to increase its flexibility and adhesion. (max. temperature 80°C)
4. Done!
Once installed, the strip is immediately ready for use. No drying time or additional finishing is required.
Tip:
Install on clean, smooth surfaces at temperatures above 16°C. Appropriate ambient conditions improve tape adhesion and affect the durability of the installation.
